President’s Letter

December 2010
Greetings to all Tumaini Fund USA supporters. It will come as no surprise that Dr. Susan Wilson continues to build momentum in raising interest & new support for Tumaini Fund. During the summer she was hosted by several Lords at St. James Palace in London. This will likely result in Tumaini Fund participating in a large “Table Top Charities” event later this year.

June – The Tumaini Fund was the primary beneficiary ($75,000) of an auto Rally across 11 countries in Europe. You can learn the details on our website – Click Here.

Sept – Susan was able to travel to Nanoose Bay, Vancouver Island, British Columbia to introduce Tumaini Fund. The result is that Jonn O’Brien, and several other
volunteers will be organizing Tumaini Fund Canada during the coming months.

Oct – I was privileged to speak at 5 Masses at St. Matthews Catholic Church in
Southborough, MA. My sons Jon and Stuart were instrumental in gaining Father Jim Flynn’s confidence to allow this presentation. We had exposure to more than 800
parishioners, and the checks and on line contributions are still arriving daily.

Finally we are pleased to announce that Susan will be returning to Naples in early March to bring all of us up to date on the orphan families we are assisting in
Tanzania.

April 2010
The first annual fundraising drive allowed us to wire $36,000 to
Tanzania last week.  While this may not seem like a lot of money to some of us, it will make a HUGE difference in the lives of many orphans. This money will fund scores of children in primary school, 70 bicycles will be delivered to “head of household” orphans, and our money was enough to fund 400 of the 5500 currently enrolled in secondary school. This secondary tuition funding was Tumaini Fund’s primary goal this season. A certificate of graduation from secondary school is a requirement to gain employment in Tanzania.

In my view, our mission is to provide prayers, encouragement and funds to support Tumaini Fund founder, Dr. Susan Wilson’s work. Currently Tumaini Fund is providing parental support to 13,000 AIDS orphans, all of whom are in primary school.

In 2011, if you will equal your 2010 donation and reach out to two or more friends in another church, we can triple our 2010 contribution and reach our goal of $100,000.  We have enclosed two brochures with gift envelopes for you to hand to a friend.
Will you help give a child hope?
